Through the Chambord and bubbles, CATWALK Theatre introduced itself as a theatrical fashion concept and had its audience watching in awe
OC Communications and Events presented CATWALK Theatre on Tuesday evening, kicking off the inaugural L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival in true style.
Supported by Fed Square and Beer Deluxe, the catwalk was surrounded by geometrical steel opening up to the stormy night and reflecting a halo of pink lights. CIRCANICA contortionist, Jessica, welcomed the audience with sensual twists and turns and Jason Coleman’s dancers showered us in feathers.
It was a showcase of accessories and fashion, with some of Melbourne’s newest designers making their mark on the fashion-scene including Made In Donald, Ever Layne, Justine Davis, Eva Q Design and Daniela Orlando. Models masqueraded down the catwalk in exotic headwear courtesy of Metal Couture (the label has previously collaborated with the likes of Marilyn Manson and the late Alexander McQueen), slinky lingerie by Fauve, Sally Jones and swimwear by Lisa Maree. Paula Kyle Walden supplied bespoke jewellery while Nikolina Concepts and Alexandra Harper dressed the models in fine millinery.
CATWALK Theatre was superbly planned and proudly sponsored by Bob Stillwell MINI, Fashion TV Australia, Siren and X&Y Mag. My only critique were the wobbles on stage, which was a distraction from the underlying fashion-focus... in future I’d definitely recommend a model casting! Alas the show was executed on time, pulled a massive crowd, tremendous support and top VIP Gift Bags! Thanks to APL Photography for the images
