Who is Max Clarke?
February 27th 2008 02:55
The name rings a bell and is definitely one to listen out for, for when you hear Max Clarke mix it up you’ll have no control of your feet, arms, body... you have to dance!
With his next big trip lined up early March, Max will be jetting off to Toronto and touring South America and the States for six months, and we can only anticipate what trends he brings us back in his suitcase!
Max’s travel journeys have been short, long, distant, crazy and above all, inspiring – this young Melbourne DJ has used a lot of euro instrumental tracks in his latest summer release
From its repetitive vocal introduction through to more popular dance tracks, Max has managed to introduce drums, trumpets and laughter in his compilation, which gives a three dimensional spin
If you’re not already making yourself a margarita, it is recommended you get to it: listening to Max’s latest release makes you feel as though you are part of a Spanish fiesta or summer beach party on Ibiza
During a 10 month tour of Argentina in 2000, Max managed to grasp the sounds of the Buenos Aires dance scene and his experimentation and enthusiasm saw him land a nightly show on Argentina’s largest commercial radio station, La Rocka FM. From there Max’s growing network of contacts and popularity had him jump into event production – and with great success! The Exquisita and Recuerdos Del Futuro events were run from January to August 2000 and attracted over one thousand people, curious to experience their first major dance event in the province of Chaco.
The bang on the eve of the New Millennium pushed Max’s DJ career into a fast forward motion and this young talent has been the talk of Melbourne since!
Featuring along side some great international and Aussie acts including Nathan G, Miles Junior, Grant Smillie and mixing as supporting DJ for MOS House Sexy tour, Max has maintained regular weekly gigs at some of Melbourne’s hottest venues: Baroq House, Boutique and GPO, playing to Melbourne’s social-circle of light-hearted dancing party-people
At the release of his latest summer compilation and dawn of his departure, why not pump the volume and listen to some of the best house and chill out tracks Max has yet released
Once you’ve finished your margarita, have another as it will be the summer of 2009 we will celebrate his return and hear more of Max’s mixes! In the meantime, we can only imagine what crazy tracks he comes across whilst abroad - Happy summer, happy holidays and happy drinking! Salute’ and safe holidays Max!
